The World Premiere
of
Lessons Learnt
Wednesday 18th March
at 6.00pm at
Highbury Campus
Yes, we are pleased to announce that the World premiere of Lessons Learnt will be held at 6.00pm on the 18th March at the Highbury Campus.
The screening will start at 6.15pm and will include our film Lessons Learnt, a series of bloopers, a short film from the charity we are supporting,
Film Crew 4U and finally the trailer for our other film Old Souls.
There will then be a reception with light refreshments provided by the City of Portsmouth College and their catering class.
There will be a display of photographs showing the behind the scenes moments, together with a display of the classes own favourite photographs.
Tickets for this Charity event will be priced at £5 each with proceeds going to
Film Crew 4U.
There is a limited capacity at the venue.
So please let us know if you would like to attend as soon as possible.
You should know us by now!
Why make one film when you can have two!
One of our classmates (Cris) made this short video about the making of Lessons Learnt which we hope you will enjoy.
Hopefully some of this will be included in the documentary we are making about the film making process.
Enjoy.
Don't ask!
Please just don't ask!
Gluttons or what!
As you will read elsewhere, filming of Old Souls will re-commence in January 2026.
So, we had nothing to do in class for the 3 weeks in December before we broke up for Christmas.
What shall we do, we asked?
Why don't we make another short film in the classroom with us as the actors and doing all the behind the scenes work some bright spark (Chris) suggested!
So, here we are making another film, called Lessons Learnt, which I think you would describe as a ghost/horror story.
We have now finished two weeks of filming and we are all looking forward to seeing the first edit.
Well, we all saw the first edit yesterday (16/12) and I am amazed at how good it is and we have achieved this in just over 2 weeks.
The finished film should be ready in early January and we are now all looking forward to the premiere.
Wow!
Today we saw the preview of our 2nd film, Lessons Learnt.
It has now had the special effects added and we were all amazed at how good it looks. Especially when you think it was filmed over 3 weeks with a bunch of amateur actors.
Having said that, without all the hard work by Billy and Chris in editing the film, I don't think we would look that good.
It has now gone to have the music added and credits written and then we will be ready to show it.

All work
and
no play
We certainly don't agree with that!
We spent this Tuesday, 20th January, at Casemates where we enjoyed coffee and cakes.
We also saw the poster for the film, which you can see at the top of the page.
There's still more, we also saw the trailer for the film which is very good and we will put this up as soon as we can.
Started filming the documentary to go together with this film and Old Souls.

The cast
From amateurs to actors.
The crew
Without these people there would be no film.
